Tyram Lakes strategic partner awarded prestigious RIBA honour
The team at Tyram Lakes is delighted to offer sincere congratulations to Richard Coutts, founder and Director of Baca Architects, upon the announcement this month that he has been made a Fellow of RIBA (the Royal Institute of British Architects).
Richard, whose team has been a key strategic partner since the very inception of the Tyram Lakes project, has been made a Fellow Member to mark his “significant contribution to architecture and the built environment and a sign of his status as a worthy ambassador of the profession.”
RIBA uses the awarding of Fellow status as an opportunity to recognise inspirational Chartered Members who make a real and positive contribution to architecture and the community.
Richard is leading the design of the Tyram Hotel and Spa, as well as successfully securing planning for the floating lodges.
Baca Architects is a multi-award winning practice and has received awards from national organisations such as the RIBA as well as international organisations such as IULA. Prestigious awards include: the RIBA Presidents award for research, Urban Research Group-Practice of the year, Waterways Renaissance Award, International Urban Landscape Award and EU Regio Star Award.
Among a number of other projects, Richard has played integral roles in the Core Cities Advisory Group for Her Majesty’s Government, and also in the DEFRA-funded LiFE (Long-term Initiatives for Flood-risk Environments) project, which aimed to identify ways in which managing flood risk can be integrated within development sites.
Congratulations again Richard, and thank you for the expertise, support and innovative design skills that you have contributed to our project.
